Emily is just Easy Mode, all you need to do is level up her attack stat and know how to i-frame dodge any enemy attack and you're guaranteed a win in campaign missions. With her extreme-dodge skills and long-range attacks, however, she has enough build flexibility to match most situations. Shiranui is very slow but deliberate, and you need to be really precise with your positioning and timing to really use her well. Combined with Spiral Rend, which is a ludicrously fast-cooldown skill that allows you to chain a basic combo into a floating jump that keeps you out of reach from any counterattack for a good few seconds, she easily becomes the most fun character to use. Her Storm Zone is basically a lunging-and-backstep attack which gives me a lot of agility and invincibility frames. By my own experience, I can only give some impressions on Asagi, Rinko, Shiranui, Kurenai, and Emily, and while I found them all relatively enjoyable the only one I can say really clicked with me from a gameplay standpoint is Kurenai. The problem with the game is that you can't test-drive any of the characters until you buy them, so some may not really match your playstyle. But how much I use each character after buying them depends on how fun they are to use. Before I first locked in my account I tried both Sakura and Yukikaze and gave them up because of how cringeworthy and annoying their voice lines are.
